I report on health in Black communities for the Washington Informer.
I recently earned a Masters of Communication from American University where I studied investigative journalism and public affairs.
I was formerly a staff writer at the Memphis Flyer, a weekly alternative newspaper in Tennessee, where I reported on city government, public transportation and a variety of other beats for three years. I earned three awards for my reporting there, including second place in the Association of Alternative Newsmedia’s immigration coverage category in 2019.
I earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis in journalism with a concentration in public relations in 2016.
When I’m not writing, I’m dabbling in photography, planning my next trip, or playing my ukulele.
